What is different on the ClubWPT Gold platform for California users?
Chips won outside the nine-day monthly window are still credited to your account, but aren’t eligible for redemption. You can play through these Chips in any subsequent month during your Game Days window, and they will then become eligible for redemption.
Our Hand Analysis tool and all of our other training features remain the same and are available 24/7, which you can use to further develop your skills as often as you want each day.
These changes took effect on January 1, 2026, and apply only to players physically located in California when playing on ClubWPT Gold.
What days are California Game Days?
For players physically located in California, a California Game Day is a 24-hour period that begins when you play at least one hand in ring games and/or tournaments at ClubWPT Gold.
You can play a maximum of nine California Game Days each month.
Look for the Game Days toggle at the top of the main lobby. When the toggle is set to ON, the first ring game or tournament hand you play will start a 24-hour Game Day.
All Chips you win during any Game Days period are eligible for redemption.
The toggle is set to ON by default. If you play less than nine days per month, you don’t have to do anything. If you want to save your Game Days for later in that month, be sure to set the toggle to OFF.
Please note that California Game Days do not “roll over” to subsequent months and each month has a maximum of nine California Game Days.
Can I still play and win Chips outside of California Game Days?
Yes! California ClubWPT Gold players can still win Chips outside of the monthly California Game Days window, but the Chips won on these days aren’t eligible for redemption (but can be played into Chips that are eligible for redemption during any California Game Days period in a future month).
Which ClubWPT Gold features will be available outside of California Game Days?
California players can still play ring games and tournaments to learn and train 24/7. The only change is the opportunity to test your skills by playing for Chips that are eligible for redemption, which you can only do during your nine California Game Days each month.
If I don’t use my full nine-day allotment of California Game Days in a particular month, will my unused days roll over so I can participate in more than nine days of California Game Days the next month?
No. Unused California Game Days don’t roll over into the next month.
How can I redeem Chips won outside of California Game Days?
Chips won outside of California Game Days are not eligible for redemption, but can be played into Chips that are eligible for redemption during any California Game Days period in a future month.
For example:
Let’s say you win 1,000 Chips on your 10th day playing at ClubWPT Gold in a given month. Those Chips will be credited to your account, but aren’t eligible for redemption.
The following month begins, and you play in a ring game or tournament with your accumulated Chips.
Your 1,000 unredeemable Chips will be used first; you can play through these Chips and they will become eligible for redemption.
Any Chips you win during California Game Days are eligible for redemption.
If I play fewer than nine days in a month, how does this impact me?
If you play fewer than nine days from California in a month, your ClubWPT Gold playing and training experience remains unchanged!
When did these changes to ClubWPT Gold take effect?
For all California players, these changes went into effect on January 1, 2026.
How will I know if my Chips are redeemable?
Your wallet normally displays separate balances for total Chips and Chips eligible for redemption, based on when the Chips were earned or played.
